Moisture control plays an important role in many industrial processes where gases and compressed air must remain sufficiently dry. Even small amounts of water vapor can influence equipment performance, product quality, and process reliability. A dependable sensing element provides the foundation for monitoring these moisture conditions and identifying changes before they become more difficult to manage. Modern trace moisture sensors are designed to provide sensitive measurements across demanding industrial environments, making them useful for both continuous monitoring systems and specialized measurement equipment.

Understanding How Moisture Sensors Work

A dewpoint sensor measures moisture in a gas by detecting changes associated with water vapor concentration. The measured value can then be expressed as dewpoint or converted into other moisture units depending on the connected instrument or transmitter.

Dew-Point uses ultra-high-capacitance aluminium oxide sensing technology for its trace moisture sensors. According to the manufacturer, the sensing element is designed to provide sensitivity, response speed, repeatability, and stability when measuring moisture in dry compressed air and process gases.
