Sam's already asking what we're doing today.
We'd been putting off trying EKPE for weeks. Kept seeing it come up whenever someone asked about a good indoor play centre in Brisbane. Today felt like the day.
The drive in
Chermside on a Saturday morning is easy. No stress finding parking.
Walked in around 10:15. Front desk was quick no long queue, no confusing sign-up process. Just names, a quick waiver, and we were in. Sam clocked the game rooms before I even finished talking to the staff.
First stop: Laser Maze
This is where the morning really started. Laser floor games in Brisbane usually mean one thing kids running through beams, trying not to touch them. EKPE's version has more layers than that. Lights shift. The course changes. Sam's second run looked nothing like the first.
Ten minutes in, he was already asking to go again.
Then: Super Grid
Different energy completely. This one's about speed and pattern. Lights flash, you react. My nephew, who's usually glued to his phone, was fully locked in. No screens needed. Just reflexes and a bit of competitive spirit between cousins.
I tried it too. Lost badly. Worth it.
Devil's Eyes and Hyper Hoops
By now it's almost midday. Devil's Eyes tests focus more than speed good for the older kids who like a real challenge. Hyper Hoops brought the whole group together, tracking scores on a screen, everyone shouting numbers at each other.
Four rooms. Four completely different kinds of fun. Nobody asked "what now" the entire time.
Watching a party happen next door
While we were there, a birthday group came through.
