Through the New Draw Express Entry system, by inviting talented applicants to apply for permanent residence, Canada keeps on fortifying its immigration regime. On 17 February 2025, 646 applicants were invited to be a part of a new Express Entry draw conducted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). With a cut-off of 750 points—52 lower than the last PNP-directed draw—this draw, #336, provided PNP candidates with an increased opportunity to receive their Invitations to Apply (ITA).
One of the primary channels for skilled immigrants to enter Canada remains the Express Entry program. The PNP-centered attraction shows Canada's desire to welcome talented individuals who have already been nominated by provinces. The provincial nomination significantly boosts a candidate's opportunity to receive an ITA in Express Entry draws when they are awarded it, increasing their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score by 600 points.
This new Draw Express Entry was made in keeping with Canada's continuous attempts to deepen its labor force and bridge labor gaps by admitting highly educated individuals who will support economic development. To facilitate equitable competition among the candidates that reached the cut-off date, the cut-off time for this round was July 23, 2024, at 17:41:11 UTC.
As of February 16, 2025, 234,644 profiles had been registered in the Express Entry pool, showcasing the competitiveness of the selection process. This notwithstanding, the Government of Canada is still dedicated to inviting deserving candidates, with 10,922 invitations already being issued in 2025, including 1,572 PNP candidates, reaffirming its commitment through each New Draw Express Entry.
