My dream land Uttrakhand

Uttarakhand, my motherland, my ancestral land, my home. I am Khushi Sharma, a Class 12 student at SGRR Race Course, Dehradun, and a resident of Uttarakhand. I have been born and brought up here. I have been to many states and seen many places, but there is only one place I can call my home and which truly feels like home, and that is Uttarakhand. The forests, the mountains, the wind, the sunrise and the sunset, everything here feels so soothing. Uttarakhand is something that lives within me. From Dehradun to Mussoorie and Mussoorie to Landour, everything has quietly shaped me with love, care and peace. In Uttarakhand, I live in Dehradun. Dehradun is called the City of Love, and I feel that love in the air, in every evening on Rajpur Road and at every Maggi point. These small things are what make this place feel like home. I want everyone to feel this at least once in their life. The roads of Landour, the trees, the mountains and the air feel heavenly and so peaceful. But honestly, Uttarakhand itself feels like this in every part of it. I love where I live, and I want everyone to experience, feel and live Uttarakhand at least once in their life. But I also want to protect what makes this place so special. I want Uttarakhand to progress, but I never want any of this to go away just because of inconvenience or in the race to reach somewhere in a few minutes. I don't want roads with trees to disappear just because we want wider and faster roads. The forests, mountains and greenery are what make Uttarakhand beautiful. I don't want the feeling of Uttarakhand to change. Uttarakhand has something very special. You don't always have to travel far to find the mountains. In Dehradun, sometimes the mountain vibe is just a few kilometres away. It is the place where people have bunked school or college just to spend time in the mountains, sit at a Maggi point, enjoy the weather and forget everything for a while. These are the memories that live within everyone who has grown up here. I want stronger roads too, roads that don't get destroyed whenever it rains heavily. During monsoon, Dehradun becomes difficult to manage, roads get damaged, water collects and sometimes bridges are not able to handle the heavy flow of water. I want bridges to be strong enough to handle the water and pressure during the rainy season. I also want better traffic management so that we don't have to face accidents regularly. Uttarakhand is visited by so many tourists who come to see the beauty of our mountains, and I want their experience to be safe. I want people who visit to understand that this beauty is not something to use and leave behind. They should keep the mountains clean and not throw plastic or waste around. We live here too, and we have to protect these mountains for ourselves and for the people who will come after us. For me, mountains are not just lifeless pieces of land. I feel like they have a life of their own. There is something in the air, something I cannot explain, that feels so strong and peaceful at the same time. Somehow, the mountains heal us. I want progress, better roads, stronger bridges, safer travel and better facilities, but I never want us to lose the forests, mountains, greenery and feeling that make Uttarakhand home. This is my dream for Uttarakhand, a better and safer place, but still the Uttarakhand I have grown up loving.
